"Hey, Torneye! Let's go for a walk!" I yelled across camp to the gray tabby. He had recently been injured by a badger, and now one of his eyes was blind. I think it made him look cooler, but his mother, Rainfur, had made a giant fuss over it.
"Alright, Dawnstream." He heaved himself up. The moon was starting to trickle its light into the sky. I smiled. Prefect, I thought. We walked to an open field. Our Clan, SnowClan, had recently laid claim to them. The stars shining from the sky made the scene even more beautiful. I looked back to see that no one was behind me, even though we had walked together. Where was Torneye?
"Hey Dawnstream! I caught us something!" His tail lashed back and forth as he talked through the fish in his mouth. I felt hot under my fur and smiled. It was going to be hard to keep the secret from him. We shared the small fish Torneye had caught. Suddenly, Torneye jumped into the open meadow.
"Come on, Dawnstream! We can see the moon perfectly from up here!" I jumped up and we laid on our backs. We looked at the moon.
"What do you think the moon is, anyway?" I asked. When Torneye looked at me with a confused expression, I explained. "You know the stars are our ancestors. What is the moon, then?" Torneye turned his gaze up to the sky. I could get a perfect view of his one good, beautiful yellow eye.
"Maybe it's our most ancient ancestors. Like lions and tigers."
"Maybe so." as he turned over and looked at me with his eyes, I couldn't help myself. I almost blurted out what I wanted to tell him, but I controlled myself. We sat silently on the Sunningrocks for what seemed like 5 moons. Silent but content, as if we had satisfied each other with our answers.
Suddenly, Torneye stood up. "Well, I'm heading back to camp. Thanks for taking this walk with me, Dawnstream. I had fun."
I watched him bound a few feet away from me, then sprang up and yelled, "Torneye, wait!"
Torneye looked at me with surprise. "Yes?"
"There's... something I've been meaning to tell you. We have been friends for a long while now. You're done so much for me, and saved my life from that badger." Torneye had lost his eyesight trying to save me. "I want to stand beside you more than as a good friend. I... I think I'm in love with you."
Torneye tilted his head a bit and leaned away from Dawnstream. Dawnstream smiled at him.
Suddenly, Torneye got up. Dawnstream was afraid that he might leave the clearing, but he stood beside her, licked her ear, and said, "Don't worry. I'm a nice guy."
Yeah, so this is for our one year. I love you, Schar <333 I tried to replicate the message I gave to you when I first told you I loved you. XD It turned out well, I guess?
I hate the background, as always. X3
